Our friend Jordan put together an awesome competition for us to all taste & vote on the best burrito in town. Each of us named our favorite taqueria, teams were assigned and we all met at Dolores Park for a day of drinking beer, eating chips & salsa and carefully evaluating every delicious burrito brought to the table in a quest to find the best!

The winner was La Taqueria, followed closely by my favorite and Ali & I's team choice: Papalote! After that it was Gordos, then Taqueria Cancun (which I chose as my #2), San Francisco Taqueria, "Someplace in Marin" (hah), and lastly Nick's Crispy Taco's (rule of thumb there obviously being get their tacos instead). SUPER FUN! Next up we're having a sushi off! My friends rule.

We were mostly there to see Aberdeen City, who we love! They were great! I only stayed for a little of Electric Six, as to me all their songs started sounding the same after awhile. But they had some serious fans there and apparently I should get some of their newer stuff.

Ali threw a rockin party on Friday night in celebration of our favorite month: Rocktober!!

It was a costume party - dress up as your favorite rockstar (or really any rock/pop star and/or musician) and our peeps really rallied with costumes, which made it soooo fun!!

Ev & Sara have an awesome place in Russian Hill that looks out over the entire bay. Gorgeous! It was the perfect vantage point to watch the planes & it was great to see all these peeps again.

For some reason I only took pics while up on the roof, but the party inside lasted for many more hours and was soo fun! I wish I had more photos because not only do I not even have one of myself, but I met Amanda & Todd that day and would have loved to have a pic to commemorate that! :)

I started the night by heading out to the Wooden Charcoal Barbecue House, at Geary & 10th Ave, for my first time EVAR experiencing Korean BBQ (well, like this anyway). It was quite the feast! And great to see Kevin, who was an old client contact of mine before he bought a round the world ticket & has been traveling ever since! awesome!

Next up was picking up my girls Ali & Jess, and meeting up with Aubs, Jordan, Ryan, Misty and Sean for the show at Slims. All three bands were great, as always & we had a fun night! Great to see the Birdmonster boys back in town, and fun running into Elise, Mike & Anna, too! wooo!

It's SUCH a beautiful day here today, we had to get out & go on a hike! Ryan & I had talked about it the day before and I called Lulu last minute and she was down - so off we went! yay! We stopped at Progressive Grounds, up on Cortland, afterwards for yummy smoothies, too.

I pretty much holed up all week, so it felt good to get out & enjoy some time with my friends! Jim made us some AMAZING food and we all drank many glasses of wine and even played cards! Afterwards it was still early so I headed over to the Haight where I met up with Ali, Jesse and some others @ Persian Aub Zam Zam... and Mario & Ryan showed up too! yay!

Afterwards we even went over to Kevin's & dug into his zines/books before finally picking up his friend and going to get a slice of pie @ Mels! Wow! Seriously about 13 hours w/ Kevin and a really fun day overall. :)

Afterwards Mario & I impulsively decided to check out Ripley's Believe it or Not (I had never been) before heading over to our 8:30 reservations at the Franciscan, which is an amazing seafood restaurant right on the water. We indulged in a 5 course tasting menu (thanks Mario!) before heading over to 111 Minna to check out the last night of the Fecal Face show. We ran into Nick Douglas there & dragged him along to go surprise Ali @ the Bigfoot Lounge where she was having a drink with Sean. Super fun night!!

Afterwards I headed to Lucky 13 & the Irish trio showed up & then Ali, Buzz, Ryan & Aubs showed up cuz they had been at a show @ Cafe Du Nord! fun! About 23 of us hit Snakes on a Plane lastnight and it was SO fun!!! The movie is seriously hilarious... I even screamed out loud a few times! haha! The best part was all of us, and the entire crowd - it was like one huge party! One of the best movie going experiences I've ever had - AWESOME!

As some of you may or may not know, I work with a group of teens every week who publish a website called Bamboozled.org . Well, tonite was the last meeting for a few of our seniors who are heading off to college, so we had a party! I ordered us all pizza & brought my button maker... it was a huge hit! fun!

Ali works at an artist management company, called Tough Love, where they manage Josh Ritter, the Submarines & a few others. I am really into the Subs sound and was happy Ali rounded up the peeps to go see their du Nord show! They played a great show & then we all went to Lucky 13 for drinkies! We went for a great hike, ate at a yummy Cambodian restaurant and then hung out @ his house and had a little miniparty celebration of our very own, listening to music & having Brian play for me. Black Angels were great and LD was really different than I thought it was going to be... but the few songs I loved off their first album sounded good - and they had a really fun, almost cute, energy on stage. Even though I was partyin into the wee hours on Saturday night, I still managed to rally myself (and Ryan) to the Futureheads show Sunday night w/ Ted & Misty.

The French Kicks never seem to impress me live - I'll stick to listening to them on CD - but the Futureheads were great, as always! I love them. I managed to even stay standing long enough to make it through the encore, but I attribute that completely to the fact that it was such a great show! Hez had a BBQ to celebrate graduating. She has a rad house/deck/backyard for a BBQ, but unfortunately it was pretty rainy. Doesn't stop us from having a good time though! The party was goin on... It's probably 80° out today - gorgeous!! So instead of getting up & going to the gym like I normally do, I decided to take an urban hike! Usually I go right up behind my house, on Bernal Hill, but I've been wanting to explore some other areas, so I ventured out to Glen Park Canyon, which is just one neighborhood over from me. The hike was gorgeous!! As soon as I got out of my car I could smell the beautiful green trees and could hear all the birds chirping. It's so phenomenal we have these slices of nature smack dab in the middle of our city. I heart San Francisco! Max (my brother) & his awesome gf Samara had their friends Ryan & Bon in town, so I went down too & we made it a party! :p We went to dinner & then came back to the house & played Balderdash. Matt made Kristen & I a yummy dinner (turkey burgers & salad) and we watched Six Feet Under (season 5, disc 3!). Stig showed up later, too. We all enjoyed vino, and as you can see I got some great shots of Mateo's cutie kitty Donovan!

I got there before everybody & right off the bat was really annoyed w/ the crowd. A Friday night at Noisepop with a band that's possibly more mainstream, means a lot of people who don't usually go to shows are out in hords. Needless to say I was glad when my showhopro friends showed up! TEAM FABULOUS to the rescue!! I wasn't the only one either, Misty even got in a little fight w/ some guy cuz he was being so annoying! haha. Anyway that night I didn't take too many photos, but they were fantastic! The lead singer is HOT.

Talk Demonic was a little painful for me - no lyrics & some of their best instruments were stuck in a laptop. Mark Eitzel, originally from American Music Club, has a really pretty voice and I enjoyed his set. But after so many openers, it was about time we see some headliner action! The National, despite the lead singer Matt's horrible cold, put on an AMAZING show. That album is in my top 5 of last year and seeing them perform a second time was a treat. I love them! Great show & fun night overall.

Organized by Dan, who probably wins *best boyfriend ever* in Sarah's book! :), we all met at Pomelo to surprise her! Sarah said she'd never had a surprise birthday before, so at 35 it's about damn time!! It was great to see all of their friends (who I'm getting to know through all their various parties this last year) and try out a new restaurant in my neighborhood. Happy Birthday, Sarah!

The Brunettes were a fun opening band. Poppy, with an amalgamy of instruments (we saw banjos two nights in a row!), sweet harmonies (soprano girls & alto boys) - and they even pulled out some crazy surprise song at the end about gameboys and mary kate & ashley. ha! I really liked the lead singer's voice(s) - both the girl & the guy - and by the end I realized lyrics wise I liked a few songs better than others. But they seemed like a cheery group, and Ali & I felt they were a pretty well matched band for CYHSY, and if nothing else a fun & entertaining opener!

Some people dislike Alec's voice, but I absolutely LOVE it & his singing style. It makes me want to get lost in it. They came out & played several songs for an encore. And did I mention how much I love the other guys in the band, too? They're all so cute & they put on a great show!! *sigh* Tonite's show was fantastic!!!

This has only happened maybe 1 or 2 other times in my 10 years in SF! crazy! It stuck around for several hours too! WILD!

My Mom & I were supposed to have done this trip over Christmas, but it was delayed due to the Hurricanes. Perfect timing though because it'd been so rainy & cold here in SF, and my Mom was delighted to escape the mounds of snow in Steamboat! So anyway, the trip was absolutely WONDERFUL. I am officially a certified diver and we got to do 6 amazing dives. Oh man, I can't even describe how much I'm in love with diving, and Cozumel's reefs are just as amazing as they say! VK's RULE!

Yay! Haylie's here! She arrived yesterday (Friday) and we went to lunch @ Savor & walked around Noe Valley. Then Friday night had dinner with our friend Matt! We ate at Triptych, which was really yummy, and since it just happens to be Matt's birthday, we got to celebrate that with him and shower him with love, gifts and most importantly: eat a yummy chocolatey birthday dessert! heheee :p

Afterwards we all scurried over to Tokyo Go Go, drank hot sake (to warm up, it was freezing out that night!) & ate yummy sushi.

Then on Thursday, Kristin & Michael came over for a visit, and to help set me up on the G4 they're graciously lending me temporarily (while my Powerbook's in the shop - sadness.)

Driving home Monday night I noticed the moon was huge. The sky was clear, too, so it was a perfect opportunity to drive up to Twin Peaks and take night shots. The moon's glow in the Bay was especially breathtaking.

The music seemed cool, like maybe it's great on CD or if we knew the songs already - but the lead singer seemed to be taking himself too seriously or something. All I know is coming off the rockin' opener, We Are Invisible, & the playful 2nd act, Black Fiction - Barbara Steele just wasn't feeling as fun. So Jem took off & Sam & I enjoyed one last drink at the bar. A very fun night.

Dan is the biggest Jeff Tweedy/Wilco fan ever, so he was pretty stoked when I was able to score him a ticket to the sold out show for the first night of his quick trip to SF. Ali, him & I had a yummy dinner @ the Curbside Cafe, hit the (awesome) show @ the Fillmore & then even had a drink @ the Hemlock afterwards. Such a fun night!! Dan met up again on Saturday for breakfast, Twin Peaks & a trip to the beach.

I heart Jenny Lewis!!! I scored tix at the last minute (from a very cute boy, I might add) and was thrilled every single second to be sitting there listening to her beauuuutiful voice! Such a fun show. Great bands & a BUNCH of friends came out to celebrate Bagel Ted's 3 years of rocking internet radio land! The ExBF's & Birdmonster kicked ass, as always.

FACTS: Brian was STILL standing & partying like a rockstar. Most everyone there was geekyfantastic. Free drinks rule. The band was pretty good, and had some songs that definitely made us dance, which is a good sign. I was happy Mai & Chris showed up. Free drinks rule (yes, I know I already said that). After a long day playing designated driver for Stig & his friends, I quickly went home, grabbed my ticket & hit this show just in time for Minipop. It was great to see my show-goin' friends! Becca had an ice-skating bday party, complete with a pink unicorn no less! I made party favor "Ice Princess" buttons from a photo of her as a little girl when she had another ice skating bday party. :) Then we all ate dinner at Vino e Cucina (aka The Big Tomato). Dinner was amazing & the coup d'etat was they had Chocolate Mousse - my favorite!!

Cold War Kids were great! Empty Rooms has one song that Ted loves and I agree, is one of their best. Hijack the Disco kicked ass, as always. Mateo came over for a present swap! It was such a nice visit! We killed a bottle of wine, I showered and Ali got here, we made dinner, then Holly showed up, then Lyne picked us up & took us hostage to go see this amazingly decorated house! We finally would up at the Knockout to see The Cuts & The Sermon - and they were great!! We took photos in the photobooth, played video games & then headed over to Lane & Courtney's party. It was great to see a different batch of crafty friends at this Sunday's Craft Day! I made cookies again (they disappeared before I could take pics), Hez made me a necklace, Ali (actually mostof us) made buttons, Peter & Darren sketched, and Peter worked on a pants/sewing project.

After the crafters went home, my neighbor came over & taught me how to make Yellow Chicken Curry! yummmm!! Also he brought me a bunch of DELICIOUS potato salad (that I'd been craving)! woohoo!

Ali & I hit the Broken Social Scene/Feist show and it was SOOO GOOD!!!! 12 people on the stage = lots of guitars, beautiful layered vocals, 2 drum sets and lots of horns!! AMAZING. Feist opened and she has the most beautiful voice! Not to mention she's beautiful! Or at least her body is because she was looking goooood in her white top & tight white jeans. She's vibrant and genuine, and her voice... oh maaaan she has SUCH a beautiful jazzy, soulful, unique voice. Seeing her live was SUCH a treat lastnight. Dan's gf, Sarah, set up a surprise bday dinner for Dan at this great German restaurant in Hayes Valley. It was great to meet some of their other friends, eat some tasty food, and wash it down with lots of fine German beer! Happy Birthday, Dan!

12 Galaxies hosted this year's Fallout Halloween New Wave/Indie Rock Dance/Costume party. We all met up at Doc's clocks first & then headed over and had a blast!! Check out the rockin costumes. My friends are awesome!

I was a *huge* fan of Jackopierce back around 94/95, when I listened to more singer/songwritery stuff - I was way into the Aware compliations, etc. When they broke up I was super bummed as I'd never gotten to see them, so when I saw they were coming to SF (their first time in 7 years they said!) I was stoked and bought tix right away. Ali joined me & we sat in the front row and enjoyed their excellent set. It was so neat for me to hear these songs I've listened to for years performed live. I was super stoked when they played "Jacob" (actually anything from Bringing on the Weather) & "Vineyard". :)

I have been loving Youth Group & was so stoked to see them live. They were awesome & so was Sam Champion! Love As Laughter was OK, but I think I just wished I had heard some of their songs before I saw them... their fans were pretty into it. I was just really pleased with Youth Group, so after that I was pretty much satisfied for the night. They're on tour from Australia right now - check em out!

I had such a rockin Friday night, that Saturday was pretty chill. I got a haircut, took a nap & went over to hang out with my neighbors for about 45 minutes while they pre-partied before heading out for their crazy night.

Always such a rockin time watching the Hijack boys play. They sounded SO good, as they've been laying down tracks & you can tell they've been tightening up their songs. BRAVO! Heavenly States was also great as always. The best part was being surrounded by so many music lovin' friends. A great night!

My dear friend Justyn got married and I'm sooo happy I was there to celebrate with him, his lovely bride and all of his awesome friends! We had SUCH a blast!

On Saturday I flew up to Seattle to pick up my new car and drive it back to SF! Seattle's trees are changing now, and it's sooo beautiful! I wish I could have taken more shots of how gorgeous the hillsides were, but unfortunately my camera battery was totally dead! However, I visited my old friend Amber (we grew up together in Steamboat) and she had an Elph, so we swapped cards & I got to use hers for a few shots! She had a huge party that night & I showed up on the tail end of it and we ended up staying up talking till 5:30 in the morning! I got home around 6am and realized I'd been partying for 12 hours. HA!!! Totally fun night!!!!

This is my 4th time seeing Arcade Fire, and although I was in the balcony at this huge venue, they were still absolutely amazing. I drove down to LA, met up with a friend to check out the WB studio lot, went to Wacko/La Luz Gallery, stopped by & saw my landlords/old neighbors, and then headed to Dee's and got ready for our night out in Santa Monica! I've lived here 9 years and I've never gone up to this lookout point! I happened to go last week on a GORGEOUS day and it was breathtaking!!! I'm truly, madly, deeply in love with the city I live in.

I actually hit 3 BBQ's this year, but only took pics @ 2 of em... it was great to see everyone, and I met some cool new peeps!
